.Bohemian Spring (Part 2). : Emilio Pucci Inspirations

*LOVELY BOHEMIA*

Spring Collection 2011

There was no hidden message behind the Emilio Pucci collection Peter Dundas showed on Saturday night, no obscure inspiration or overwrought concept. Every look he sent down the runway was unabashedly sexy and telegraphed two words: Mediterranean discotheque. Dundas retained the jet-setting bravado of the original look, with all its luxe bohemian trappings, while performing a serious revamp that made it fresh.

He turned to Ibiza for the sensual seventies vibe and to Greece, where he’s currently building a home, for the stark white and deep blues that, along with sandy brown and black, made up the island-inspired color palette. Most importantly, however, from Yves Saint Laurent he picked up a haute hippie classic, the lace-up safari shirt, and reworked that iconic item a dozen different ways, making it his own.

"Bohemian beachcomber done luxe" is how the designer rather aptly described it beforehand.
